Doctors

Dr Pritpal Singh Nanra (m)

Dr Nanra joined the practice in February 2018 and became a GP partner a few months later.

He is Medway born and bred and lives locally, having been born in Chatham, and completed his medical training from Barts & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Away from work he enjoys keeping fit and watching his beloved cricket and football teams, and you will normally catch him a good mood on a Monday morning especially if Manchester United win!

He is fluent in English, Punjabi and has some ability with Hindi/Urdu.

Hannah Mitchell (f)

Dr Mitchell has been a long term locum for us.  She works on a Tuesday.

Dr Saba Khan (f)

Dr Khan has started working with us as a locum GP on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Reyner Ludlow (f)

Advanced Clinical Practitioners have undertaken extra training in clinical assessment, including history-taking and physical examinations so that they can safely manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions and make treatment decisions including ordering necessary investigations.  They can prescribe medication for conditions within their competence and do referrals.  They can also undertake appropriate home visits and sign sick certificates.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

The Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Administration

We have 3 admin staff.

Their duties include actioning daily tasks from Clinicians.  Scanning patient letters, discharge summaries, out of hours reports and any other patient related information into their notes appropriately and either workflow to the relevant Clinician or save to patient notes.  Assist with covering the telephone lines with regards to tasks/docman.  Dealing with the post/emails/e-consult.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

We currently have 5 Receptionists.

Krish is a Clinical Pharmacist Partner of the Surgery, working alongside Dr Nanra.

Community Nurses

The district nurses are based at Rainham Healthy Living Centre. Tel: 337600 (main reception).

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.  To contact the Health Visitors please telephone 01634 337712 or 337698
